Cult British animated band Gorillaz have made a massive announcement today – Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett are back with their own festival titled ‘Demon Dayz’.

After spending the last few years in quiet recluse to work on new material, and the former Blur frontman made the announcement via the Metro.

The comeback show will take place in Margate, Kent on June 10th, and the band are expected to debut new material.

Last month Albarn informed fans that the new record had been completed after the release of the politically motivated single ‘Hallelujah Money’ which featured British poet Benjamin Clementine.

Rumours of a full scale return have been in circulation for some time now, since the band returned to social media earlier this year with a post which simply read “the_end”.

The last Gorillaz output prior to Hallelujah Money was 2011’s The Fall. i

Tickets are set to go on sale later this week.
